A little slice of paradise on Earth….

We are so fortunate to have this on our doorstep in a world that’s full of chaos. Today, was perfect in every way.

Walking to Island Bay along the south coast we stopped at Houghton Bay to watch this surfer enjoying his moment of escapism…

The view from Island Bay across the Cook Strait to the South Island was absolutely breathtaking…

Sophie and I picked Charli up from school and headed to Lyall Bay for a bike ride and a walk on the beach. Charli is loving school and settling in so well; but she loves her space too and it was magic to be able to give her space a-plenty today…

Sophie is thriving too and has just learned to hop (she was already hopping crazy!). She’s quick with a ball, loves to shoot hoops, makes her Daddy proud with some junior tennis shots and ride her hobby horse round the house. She went running for the surf this afternoon, forgetting it’s still ‘Winter’ and came out fast with a look of shock at the icy temperature of the water!

She also loves being hung upside down by her ankles – she’s asking me to swing her round all the time – must be the Olympics giving her some wild ideas!

Charli is non-stop reading, writing and working on little projects. She has a number of little ornaments on her bedside window-sill (fairy, ballet dancer, angel and unicorn) and touches the one she’s going to have a dream about each night before she drifts off listening to her favourite ballet music, Mozart or gentle jazz slumbers.

We are so very blessed and very, very grateful for our little slice of paradise.
