We spent a wonderful hour (or so!) getting lost in the Taupo Botanical Gardens whilst on holiday. The gardens consist of winding pathways; twisting and turning in such rapidity that orientation skills are seriously put to the test! Fortunately, the road which winds through the gardens is never too far from the tracks; so that if one gets really lost there’s always the circular tarmac to follow back to one’s car! Thankfully, we had the experience of ‘Chicken’ Grandad to help guide us – that is when he didn’t have us all pole balancing!
We also loved the award-winning ‘100% Pure New Zealand Ora – Garden of Wellbeing‘ at the Taupo Museum.
