The theme over on the Sticky Finger’s blog, for ‘The Gallery‘ this week, is ‘Picture Postcard’. It was so hard to pick one from my recent photographs. In the end I decided upon this ostrich! I just love the big eyes and lashes, the long neck and inquisitive beak. It could have been taken anywhere. I’d like to say it was taken on safari in Africa, but I’d be telling a fib – no harm in imagining though!
This photograph was actually taken at our local Zoo in Wellington. Happy memories are linked to it – as the visit was with my dear sister. She visited in April (already seems a life-time ago). I hadn’t seen her in over four years, so we had a lot of catching up to do! I wonder what this ostrich would say about his life in the African village of Wellington Zoo – looked pretty content to me.

Sounds like this photo holds a great memory too. I love it when that happens! He looks as though he’s wondering what the heck you are lookin’ at.
What a great picture. x
Super photo !!…your photography is as brilliant as your writing….what a talented lady…big hugs.
I love the fluffy glow of his head – almost cuddly but probably far from cuddly.Â
Great photo -as always!
