Masked Fun at Capital E

Capital E always pulls out the stops to entertain children over the school holidays. We spent Thursday morning making masks and enjoying the wonderful ‘Commedia Dell’Arte Performance’, a form of mask theatre that evolved in Italy, influencing early clowning and ballet.

We had a very fun morning of inspiration and comedy. Here’s the girls creating their masks. Capital E set up a room with ultra-violet light for children to see the wonder of the florescent masks they’d made. Very cool! Charlotte (I keep forgetting she has decided she’d like to be called Charlotte, not Charli, these days), said she’d love a few of those lights in her bedroom!

  1. What amazing masks you made at Capital E and loved to see the effects in the florescent lights…you are so very imaginative Charlotte and Sophie!! You are all having a lovely school holiday and Alice seems to be enjoying it all in your wonderful company. What happy days.

  2. Hello Sarah,
I work at Capital E and have just seen this great blog…It looks like you all had a good time with the masks! Would I be able to pop a link to this from our website so people can see your comments?
    Many thanks,
