Christmas Day at Chez Lee

6.30am and the day started with a rush as the girls jumped onto our beds with shouts of excitement and stockings loaded with presents. We try to insist on breakfast before opening the pressies under the tree; but Sophie ensured it wasn’t a leisurely one! She couldn’t WAIT to rip into the presents. She wasn’t interested in the contents – but the act of unwrapping. She loved it so much that we wrapped Charlotte up later in the day – with sellotape for extra effect – and Sophie had a scream unwrapping her sister!

The weather wasn’t its best, but never mind – we had some serious games of ‘Buckaroo’ to play… (which was definitely the highlight of the day!).

In the afternoon we headed to the waterfront; where the girls nearly got blown off their bikes! We then took shelter in Te Papa – where we were surprised to find a busy collection of people from all round the world, whiling away time on their Christmas holiday!

The girls finally went to sleep a little after 8.30pm! Dan and I tucked into a small turkey roast and started preparations for Sophie’s second Birthday on Boxing Day!
