Sophie and I started the week by baking a simple fruit cake from our trusty Be-Ro recipe book. I love the smell of baking and the house is now filled with the most wonderful, wholesome aroma. We gave this cake a big thumbs up for simplicity to make, little mess to clean up afterwards and, most important, it tastes divine!
Sophie loves to bake and is so good at encouraging me (as this never used to be an area I was comfortable in!). Thankfully, I’m slowly being converted and thoroughly enjoyed this appetizing start to the week.
Also check out Sophie’s Banana Tea Bread (yummy!).

I love the ‘Im taking a bite’ picture. She is gorgeous! So nice to have an enthusiastic little helper in the kitchen.
She’s an enthusiastic eater as well as baker. And she eats most of her food with her eyes closed and chin up, followed with an ‘mmmmmmm’ sound – so cute!
Remebering Mum, Grandma and Great Grandma as her birthday fell on the 21st September and just so many memories of her….she was such a good cook too and would be so very proud of you making such wonderful goodies…..they look so yummy…well done!!
Happy memories indeed. I shall never forget our wonderful weekend visits to Penarth when Dad would plead for Claire and I to eat more of Grandma’s cakes so he wouldn’t have to expand his waistline any further! She was incredible and it was always great to enjoy Grandad’s home-grown produce (and when we were older his wine!).
mmmm, Yum! I have some bananas waiting around to be baked into something yummy, thanks for the inspiration!!
Ah, Hay, it is you that normally inspire me!
