Meeting Father Christmas

‘Ho, ho, ho!’

Meeting Father Christmas Father Christmas at Kirkcaldie & Staines

The girls were thrilled to meet Father Christmas at Kirkcaldie and Stains recently. He was really authentic. Charli had a massive beam on her face for ages afterwards. She was really overwhelmed and her big eyes were glazed over with wonder. Sophie was also in total awe. Sooooo cute!

And what did they ask for?

Charli: The game ‘Mouse Trap’ and a beautiful painting.

Sophie: A drum kit, threading beads and a Hi 5 DVD.

They wished him safe travels as they left and wanted to know how he got round the world in one night…
ah, that’s the magic of Christmas!

Today they both received a letter from the man himself (in reply to their letters)…

Letter from Santa

I love the ‘P.S.’ at the end, ‘Be sure to get to bed early Christmas Eve. Last year I had to stop by your home three times before you were asleep.’
(Click on the photo to see it bigger – it’s such a gorgeous letter)

As Sophie went to sleep tonight she said, ‘Oh Mummy, it’s so hard to sleep when I’m so excited. I am thinking of the number 4 door and the chocolate waiting inside for me!’

Both the girls were actually really good at going to sleep last Christmas Eve (with the gentle reminder that Father Christmas wouldn’t visit till they were fast asleep).

  1. Hi there, thanks for stopping by my blog. You look like you are getting in some fun Christmas activities. I love it. Your girls are so cute. Merry Christmas.

  2. Hi Sarah, I am loving the kiwi mummy blog site for this very reason. We get to meet other bloggers in our own part of the world.
How cute is the Christmas letter! I love the PS part too. Blessings.xxx

  3. How lovely to go and meet Father Christmas….he wrote you a lovely letter and it must have been great to sit on his knee and have a talk with him. We must put our tree up soon….we love to see the twinkling lights in the evening. All your decorations look so beautiful!!

  4. I do wish I had little ones to make it seem worthwhile transforming the house into a magical grotto. I think this year I’ll be fairly restrained as the rest of the gang aren’t arriving till the 28th , even the Christmas tree is being debated, maybe just a few tastefully decorated branches.

    • Wishing everyone much merriment in the build-up to Christmas. It really is special again for us having little ones to share it with. We wouldn’t normally be going so decoration crazy, but with the children it’s had to resist. Seeing the joy and wonder on their faces is priceless. They are full of questions and Sophie is a little worried about who will give Father Christmas a present – so sweet that she’s thinking of ‘giving’ and not just ‘receiving’. And Charli really is stumped as to how he can get round the whole world 🙂 x Sarah x
