In a dreary, cloudy, week of rain in Wellington, there has still been a splash of summer colour to brighten our days. The best being this sunflower, which finally came into bloom (never mind we’re now in Autumn in New Zealand!). I snapped this photo, whilst negotiating children into the car in the rain, on my phone camera. The sight of the sunflower greeting us, as we opened the front door, was definitely a pleaser!
And nature had another surprise for us, resting on the car door, which I encouraged to move on to a better spot. This beautiful Red Admiral butterfly opened its wings to show us its colours, before resettling on a succulent by the children’s ornamental wishing well (again snapped on my phone camera – so excuse the slightly ‘out of focus’ photo of the underside of this butterfly’s wings!).
I hope you’ve found some colour to brighten your week.

I’m linking up with ‘The Gallery’ at ‘Sticky Fingers’, where there are lots of beautiful photographs of ‘colour’ to be found this week.

Nature sure has done its job and what a joy to see the beautiful butterfly…maybe one of the ones I saw now hatched and always a miracle to see!! Also the flowers are so lovely…a beautiful sunflower indeed to bring a smile to anyone’s face and maybe excuse the raindrops for watering it….hope the sun comes out again soon…big hugs all round.
LOVELY 🙂 Â Love the colour of that flower and I just love butterflys
Gorgeous colours in what has been a pretty bleak week weather-wise!
