I enjoyed a beautiful run as the sun set over the Cook Strait, between New Zealand’s north and south island. It was a perfect winter’s evening, with just enough of a breeze to support me in finding my breath and driving my step.
It was the kind of evening that cannot be passed by without stopping to take a photograph, write a poem or linger a while to sketch.
Life’s flow
The sea breeze was perfect for a run
Head on, it filled my parted lips with air
A pure shot of O2 to fuel my lungs
Behind me, it pushed – into the setting sun.Streaks of red blazed in the cool winter sky
Clouds mixed with fire, I felt fit to fly.
My heart so alive, my head in the now
Dragons could not stop me. In life’s flow.
