I was recently wasting countless hours on Facebook when I came across a friend’s photos of a recent visit to Festinho Festival in Suffolk, UK. What really captured my attention, and had me up most of the night dreaming, was her amazingly natural tent. She has since put me on to the website where she ordered her tent from at Bell Tent UK.
Check out the interior of her tent!

Now that’s one tent to add to my wish list (along with the kayak and the surf board which Dan and I were talking about at midnight last night!). After that, all that’s left is for us to check out New Zealand’s summer festivals and hit the road! For starters, and close to Wellington, is the Organic River Festival in Levin on 16, 17, 18 February 2009.

That’s a tent and a half. We were members of the Sealed Knot (16thC battle re-enactment) and camped with the children for many years in tents. Our ambition, (which we achieved) was a little caravan. Much better in the wet British weather.
Beautiful memories Ruta and I can imagine a whole lot of fun and many, many stories to tell?! I’d love a little caravan or mobile home one day too as there’s nothing better than hitting the road and feeling free. Here in NZ there are numerous spots to free camp and touring out of peak holiday season is the best. We used to camp a lot, but had put it on hold for a while with the girls being so young (though of course many people camp with babes in arms). We’re now ready to start exploring under the stars once more… and it feels so exciting!
Look forward to a pow wow soon although our tent is more nylon and string than dreamy teepee! the festival in Levin sounds right up our street though – see you there! – Rx
Hi Rachel, Yes, I always have the best intentions of going to said festival – but haven’t made it happen yet… perhaps with some cyber-space encouragement I’ll get my finger out and get organised! Love, Sarah x:)
Erm….looks like I am the only one who doesn’t like it!!? Ooops! Not for me I’m afraid but each to their own of course!! 🙂 xx
You know me Marrisa – a hippie at heart! I can smell the incense from here xxx – Though it did cross my mind that with children there is no private annex for a bit of the business… if you get my drift!
Lol@ Marrisa and you. I like it, but I’m not much for camping, especially with little ones. Give me a cabin with shower and kitchen any day 🙂
That said, if I had to camp, THAT would be the tent for me.
