There’s a Kitesurfer at the End of the Rainbow

Posted on June 17, 2007November 27, 2009 by BritMumInNZ

I remembered my camera today and the heaven’s blessed me with a rainbow! A wicked southerly was blowing at Lyall Bay and the kitesurfers braved the elements to get their thrills. The rain was cold as ice. The wildness of the weather added to the extreme excitement of watching this incredible sport in action. A sport which truly harnesses the elements.

I am totally in awe of this sport. Remember permission is needed from Wellington’s Airport Control Tower to fly in Lyall Bay! Check out the next post to see Charlotte’s ‘star kite’ creation in celebration of Matariki.
