From 26 degrees of Indian summer last week to howling southerlies and 12 degrees today… brrr, Autumn is suddenly descending on us at a pace I am not ready for. Today was one of those, hold on to your hats and children days. For brave exercise fanatics the going was great… as long as the Southerly was at the rear. As for moving a house on the back of a truck… geez this home-owner was lucky that the top half of their house didn’t get blown out to the Cook Strait!

There’s a ton of videos on ‘YouTube’ on this subject. Here’s a little (or rather ‘big’) example of how it’s done…

It sounds, apart from the wind, as if we’re having very similar weather despite being on opposite sides of the world. Well it was the equinox on Saturday. I think that means our weather should be improving from now on but you can never tell. We’re being very decadent this year and still have the central heating on in the evening to make the bedroom nice and cosy. ( We went for years when the heating only went on for the days when our friends came to stay and it was thick jumpers for the rest of the time in the winters).Romas has already moved permanently into shorts and I wore mine for most of the weekend. We’re definitely not allowed them at work ‘cos our Head doesn’t think they’re suitable.
It’s 2 degrees up here this morning but I am thinking positively of the sun that’s fighting it’s way through. A glorious day I hope in readiness. Keep the wind in Wellington please, I’m over the wind blown look!
