Monarch Wednesday

Monarch butterfly at Island Bay

It’s Autumn in New Zealand. Our clocks go back an hour at the weekend. But the sun is still smiling and the beach is still tempting.

We are choosing to ignore the chillier mornings and evenings, the shorter daylight hours and the dew in the mornings – whilst we can!

Winter’s on its way? But these chaps, or should I say ladies, don’t think so…

  1. Beautiful. We’ve just changed our clocks forward so does that mean the time difference between UK and NZ gets two hours greater at this time of year…??

  2. Enjoy your spring and summer and I hope it’s a lovely one for you with your wedding coming up! How exciting! Not long to go now!

We will be 11 hour’s ahead of the UK after our clocks have changed.

Currently gets dark 7.30pm – but as of the weekend – 6.30pm πŸ™

Ah well, we’ve had a good summer and the weather is still being kind to us, so I shan’t complain.

  3. It is going to be a bit weird with the darker evenings, but I’m really looking forward to lighter mornings again – at least for a little while until winter kicks in πŸ™‚

  4. I’m loving the close up of the caterpillars..gorgeous.

From your posts, I see that you are getting out a lot more…it reminds me of all the posts that you wrote before Alice came along. I guess things are becoming easier…as well as the fact that your two “big” girls are at school now, so you want to cram as much special time with them as possible when they are with you.

    Counting down to the holidays!
