They appeared overnight on the beach at Lyall Bay. The once flat sand came alive.
Over 80 people brought buckets and spades, to work under the night-sky, to leave a surprise.
People stopped and stared in awe.
Children ran down on to the beach to explore.
Castles with moats and turrets…
Magical castles with crystals…
And castles with steps…
Castles that looked like giant wedding cakes…
Even the seagulls stopped to stare.
A thoughtful, heart-warming gift.
An idea from ‘Adventure Wellington‘ group,
which raised over $500 for Child Cancer Foundation.

Oh…how inspiring and wonderful are those sand castle and all sorts of amazing ideas with candles,pebbles crystals and more. Thank you so much for giving us the chance to see them..and for such a worthwhile cause…Wellington seems to come up with so many wonderful ideas for good causes….wel ldone!!
