Cauliflower Nightmare

Charlotte woke at 5am this morning having a bad dream. She rarely wakes in the middle of the night these days and she picked the worse night to do so. I was really hoping she’d have a good night’s sleep. I went in to see her and she kept muttering, ‘Need cauliflower!’. She never eats cauliflower and I had no idea where this was coming from, but she wasn’t going to go back to sleep till she’d had some.

Dan, aka Daddy The Hero, took her downstairs and cooked some cauliflower. After that the pair of them went back to sleep on the couch till 8am! Phew!

Dan has taken the girls out so I can get the house clean for our house-sitters and change all the bedding. Just about all done! The cats definitely know something is going on and are busy scenting the suitcases. I’ve had to lock Simba’s big bear in another room, as he’s tearing it to shreds! The fish seem okay, but as I type they are looking at me rather mournfully. I’m sure Stephanie and Francis will be able to keep all the pets happy and I’ll look forward to hearing how they fared on our return (they’ll probably enjoy the peace and quiet!).

I think I’ll have a quick cup of coffee and then see if I can meet up with them at Lyall Bay for a quick breath of fresh air myself.

Bon voyage (and hopefully no more cauliflower nightmares!)
