Cheerleader Charli!

Charli has loved her first term of cheer-leading. All practice has been done behind closed doors, so it was a real treat to go to her end of term class today! Her ballet and jazz performance classes are at the weekend (but I get to peek in on those through an open door! – will be a big surprise for Daddy and Sophie who haven’t had any peek previews!). Today was a lot of fun! After the cheerleaders performed as a group they then braved the ‘stage’ independently… here’s Charli shaking her pom-poms!

  1. What a fantastic record of Charlie’s endevours. I’ve been recently reviewing some childhood pictures my Dad sent me that have been scanned onto a CD. It made me realise how much more children will have in the future of their early lives. This blog will be precious to them – hope you’ve backed it up!!

Awww, thanks Julie. We have fun looking back on it all too and very much hope it will bring the girls much amusement (and not too much embarrassment) when they’re older! And yes – heavy duty backup in place (hubbie runs an I.T. business, thankfully, so he’s got it all in hand – but I just triple checked with him again – they’d be serious trouble if it all went up in cyber-smoke!).

  2. How sweet!! Charli is so grown up yet still so very small. How nice too that she has a passion for cheerleading – a strange thing for Kiwi’s to do, but so lovely for the children to practice. xx

Too true – I observed her displaying such ‘big girl’ expressions at times – but still so very petite. She’s just made it into age 4 clothes, bless. Sophie’s catching up on her fast. Thankfully, Charli’s not one to let her diminutive stature affect her ability to get up and go – though, as you and I know, she puts on a brave face – but has such a sensitive, fragile centre (got me thinking of creamy Easter eggs now…!). Perhaps she’ll be cheer leading for the All Blacks one day! – Might be able to pay her own way through University on her way to being PM – ha, ha!

  3. Go Charli Go….what excellent timing to the music and such a joy to watch. We enjoyed it so much and we are sure mummy, daddy and Sophie had a treat watching it too.Well done darling.

We certainly had a good laugh and were thoroughly entertained! Definitely worth the fees as we enjoyed ‘the show’ and all this dancing is keeping both Charli and Sophie busy, fit and supple (and occasionally Dan and I get called in to practice the splits – HA, HA – and be ‘the base’ of the pyramid stack – better than a Swedish massage – NOT! – ah the joys of parenthood!).

  4. Well done to Charli. She certainly is a natural performer with all that confidence and a good sense of rhythm. Thank you for sharing that sweet performance.

Awww, thanks Ruta for your lovely words and support. Charli is really enjoying her dancing and it’s such a great way to learn rhythm; and feel strong and confident in both body and mind.

  5. How I wish you were in my classes!!! What a clever girl you are! You look so beautiful, and I bet Mummy, Daddy and Sophie are so proud of you. I can’t wait to see your ballet and jazz performances. You must work very hard in all your lessons Charli!! Well done little Princess. Love you lots, Auntie Sue xxx

Dearest Sue, How FABULOUS of you to leave a comment – which I’ll make sure Charli reads! Would be incredible to have you teaching her – next time we eventually make it over to see you we’ll have to have some ‘private lessons’! So pleased your business is going so well and you are living to work – not working to live. Must be so satisfying to be teaching dancing – and dancing again too! More videos coming on Saturday… One of these days I will find the time to dance again myself – such a wonderful release and nothing I love more than letting my mind and body move to music. Lots of love to you all and we miss you so much xx

  6. Oh, she’s great! I love how she puts her heart and soul into it!
    Lucy xx

Thanks Lucy, it really is wonderful to see anyone immersed in something they are passionate about. Music and dancing really do capture Charli’s heart with such a depth of feeling.

  7. Wonderful performance. I see you have your favorite colour of pom poms, PURPLE. You are such a clever little girl and sooooo pretty. We are all vary proud of you.Love you lots. xxxxxx. Chinese Grandma.

Thank you Chinese Grandma! x Now that Daddy’s started the soccer season I will be cheering him on from the side lines! Love and hugs from Charli x
